Called & Gifted.  As the subtitle of this booklet states, it is a statement that  “reaffirms the biblical basis for the full participation of women in the ministries of the church.”  Although this material was designed for use in Covenant churches, it also serves as an excellent and concise guide for those interested in the subject of women in vocational ministry, and looking for a theologically articulate summary of the issues. This material was writtenby Sharon Cairns Mann and was published in 2004.

Available here as a free downloadable .pdf. and also available here on the Covenant Publications website.

New hard copies are available at Christians for Biblical Equality's (CBE) bookstore (Equality Depot). Hard copies are hard to find and Amazon's prices are higher than CBE's!

The Called and Gifted Study Guide (Student Version) is a companion to the "Called & Gifted" statement published by the Commission on Biblical Gender Equality of the Evangelical Covenant Church (above).  Written in an engagingly clear and irenic style, the Called and Gifted Study Guide may easily be the most concise overview available today on the subject of women's roles in the church. Created specifically to help facilitate group discussions, the nine sessions move participants through a systematic study of the various position on this important subject in an even-handed way, while still being clearly egalitarian. Simple, readable, yet thorough, it provides a first look at the issues involved and encourages readers to rethink issues they may have thought were settled. Whether you are contemplating individual or group study of this subject, this book is an ideal starting point for those who want to study the subject but don't know where to begin.

New hard copies are available at Christians for Biblical Equality's bookstore here:
